I find it amusing to use my friend the invisible green dragon: religious
folks pretty much consistently get stuck - they can no more disprove my
dragon than I can their God, but they can also not point to any reason to
believe in God any more than my dragon. It is also amusing to see Elizabot
be completely unable to understand the context of the dragon... and in her
obsession - which is genuinely bothersome - try to embarrass me by bringing
him up out of context.
So, your invisible green dragon is pretty much the same thing as the
IPU (Invisible Pink Unicorn), which was a commonly used device in
alt.atheism back when I was a regular there. B)
LOL... I did not know about the Invisible Pink Unicorn... but I see they go
back in Usenet to at least 17 March 1992... and I see there are references
to an invisible green dragon almost as far back... 26 Oct 1992, though in a
very different context... (both based on Google...).
Gee.... that brings back memories. All hail Colleen, the Internet
Goddess! I, your humble servant, await your return. You shall ride upon
the Earth atop the great Invisible Pink Unicorn and smite the wicked
with your Gigantic Intersexual Coconut! All hail Colleen!!!
Um, yeah... that was what I was thinking. :)
