Ray Charles was a heroin addict and yet everyone in the country (and
millions of others from around the world) loved the guy. If you watch his
movie ("Ray" - highly recommend),
i've seen the promos. i have no interest in ray charles. i'll catch it for
free in a couple of years when it is screened on tv.
you see that all the pressure in the
world couldn't get him to quit, not even his wife. It was only after he
held a trophy his son had won, in an event that he couldn't attend, that he
committed himself to rehab. He went through the whole physical withdrawal
bit and swore (successfully) that he'd never use again. The sad part is
that he was one of those rare users that could still manage to keep control
of his life and not let his addiction interfere with his work. It makes
people want to experiment just to prove to themselves they're as
strong-willed as Ray. Consequently ..I'm now a heroin addict
if heroin was legal, it would be an option.
you would get clean needles so you wouldn't run the risk of contracting HIV
or Hep C. and the quality of the drug would be excellent, so you wouldn't be
injecting all manner of impurity into your veins. and the quality (and
therefore dosage) would be very predictable therefore lowering the risk of
overdosing.
But it'd totally ruin the element of surprise.
