I think that's an interesting concept, to imagine God as being the parts
of us that we are not, making us whole.

one of the big things that comes up in my life is the conflict between
the desire to be aggressive and the desire to be passive. perhaps my
spiritual development is helping me be more receptive, as a compromise,
rather than unduly reinforcing one or the other.

i'm very comfortable referring to "god" as Her, at least i think so.

To me, I'm not sure what it is, but it bothers me when people refer to
God with a female pronoun. I think it's probably b/c most people do it
to be disrespectful. Still, though, it makes me cringe when people
refer to God like that. *shrug*

Btw, are you not going to be posting at the board David created? :( You
write interesting things, and it's easier to read things there, not have

If one actually reads about the spirit of God, then one would realize that
in order to get into Heaven, you as a spirit, are neuter.

The Gospel of Thomas explains it best.

Jesus said to them, "When you make the two into one, and when you make the
inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the
lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male
will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an
eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place
of an image, then you will enter [the kingdom]."

Note the male will not be male and the female will not be female. That's
because a spirit is neuter.

That is why the word for God is both male and female.
