There's a reverse secular trend in punctuation. Studies have shown that
the sentences in more advanced cultures use fewer exclamation marks,
periods, and other punctuation than do more primitive cultures. It
seems clear that this difference is not genetically based, as the
changes in punctuation use is much quicker than the normal course of
evolution would account for.
Obviously, society is moving in the direction of less punctuation.
Since there's a lower limit on the amount of punctuation a sentence can
contain, then there's a limit to how advanced a society can become as
measured using this metric. The difference between the amount of
punctuation the average sentence contains and the theoretical lower
limit of punctuation per sentence I call "God".
Incidentally, there are four different factors in the measurement of
punctuation in a sentence. In the literature they are known as !, ?, .,
and ,. These factors are isomorphic to the space-time metric, and so I
have proven that changes in 'punctuation space' are analagous to changes
in Einsteinian space-time. Therefore, gravity is the same as
punctuation and ultimately causes the existence of God.
