I meant your "fabricate lies about an officer of government." You act as
if someone making a snide remark about Rummy's untrustworthiness is
conspiracy against the US.

Conspiracy? Did I ever say that? No. I said it was a fabrication and
without a shred of evidence. And to make a fabrication like that against an
officer of this country is, in my opinion, unpatriotic. You may disagree
and argue that he has a right to say it, which of course he does, but I also
have a right to say it's unpatriotic.

*****. Making snide comments on Usenet? Get a grip.

I wasn't being snide. Klee wrote equations in his last 2 posts to

me.

Do

you seriously dissagree with what I said?

I meant your "fabricate lies about an officer of government." You

act as

if someone making a snide remark about Rummy's untrustworthiness is
conspiracy against the US.

Conspiracy? Did I ever say that? No. I said it was a fabrication

and

without a shred of evidence. And to make a fabrication like that

against

an

officer of this country is, in my opinion, unpatriotic. You may

disagree

and argue that he has a right to say it, which of course he does, but

I

also

have a right to say it's unpatriotic.

Actually I don't even think it's the patriotism thing that annoyed me so
much. It's the fact that everyting about this war is slanted left,

slanted

right, or is an outright lie to the left, or an outright lie to the

right.

I just get sick of seeing it. And JTEM just threw out another one in

the

"outright lie to the left" catagory. It's almost like in politics lying

is

perfectly acceptable.

Well, why didn't you just *say* you're the only person who sees the war
exactly as it is? I didn't realize we were in the presence of such
greatness.

Well I recognized JTEM's statement as a blatant fabrication, but I don't
think I'm the only one who recognized that... I was, unfortunatly, the
only one who condemed it.

An ad hom is not attacking a fabrication, it's attacking a person. For
someone who claims to be an atheist, you're damn good at xian tactics.

Furthermore, Argumentum ad Hominem is to say that a person's
argument is wrong *because* of a personal trait. This is a
subtle point, not appreciated by many.
1. Your argument is wrong because you're stupid.
2. You are stupid, and your argument is wrong because the
following facts prove your conclusion is false. (facts follow.)
1. is argumentum ad hominem but 2. is not.

The way I read it, 1 and 2 are opposites. But, yeah, 1 is an ad hom, 2
is a somewhat rudely phrased counter-argument.
