Actually it is crafted to be as merciful as possible. Have you looked
at other slaughter?
Standard north american plants immediately kill the animal with
a bolt through the head, far different from the kosher meat processing
depicted here.
For some dishonest meaning of "immediately". That is, the standard
method fails frequently and they don't care. Also they drag the living
animals, kicking and struggling, on a chain before killing. Oh, and if
the bolt does not kill it they just butcher it anyway.
