B
What does it take to convert to a Muslim?
A: You can't readily. You are either born into the faith or, in
limited circumstances, become a Muslim by marriage.

pillars of Islam'. One of them, Zakat, is:
A: The obligation to give annually to charity
B: The obligation to seek potential converts

Arabia.

A: An Imam is the quasi-political leader whose decisions are acted

Sunni is to Shia as …
A: Catholic is to Protestant
B: Christianity is to Judaism
C: Sikhism is to Hinduism
None, though the questionnaire presumably thinks A
Which of the following does not describe Islam's opinion of
Christianity and Judaism?

superceding Judaism and Christianity.
C: Both of them are wholly wrong and should be dismissed out of hand
for believing in false prophets.
All three represent the beliefs of some Muslims

Why?
Because it is not the job of the BBC to make anodyne brainless quizzes
about religion, written by people who wish to prosyletise for those
religions.
The BBC is an a-religious organisation, or should be.
I didn't think it was a problem, I thought it was quite interesting.
Really? You must have an incredibly low boredom threshold. Maybe you
should try watching a bonfire.
What would you score on a quiz about christianity?
Zero. I'm not a Christian any more than a Muslim, or anything else,
and I'd if the BBC put a similar quiz about Christianity on its BBC
I'd object just as 'much'.
Given the 30 or so local/terrorist wars going on around the world in
the name of Islam, for a premier news gathering insititution like the
BBC to ignore them all in favour of dopey questions like 'what's the
fastest growing religion' [answer: Druidism. The BBC can't even get
the answers right], is grotesque. It's like sketching a history of
Christianity that doesn't include the crusades or the inquisition.

Entering Islam will be a political statement amongst the young in
Western countries:
A: in 10 years time
B: in 3 years time
C: never
D: it already is.
This is the one to watch for, guys.
Why?
It has been so in the US for over 40 years.
Thanks for pointing this out.
Primarily a phenomena amongst black Americans, no?
You have data for white and Latins?
Is it the one to watch for in the sense that "everything that
happens in the States must happen here eventually"?
don't see the political-based conversions to Islam as a phenomena
amongst white middle class young people. activists, people who read
indymedia are the people I mean.

I've never really understood why black Americans would want to convert
to Islam. Animistic religious beliefs are much more "African" than
both Christianity and Islam.

But they don't offer the solidarity Islam does.

Same sort of mentality that led many American blacks to learn Swahili in the
60s even though virtually all of the blacks here are descended from those who
came from West Africa where Swahili was completely unknown.
It would be like me trying to get closer to my Swedish heritage by learning
Turkish. Then again the Varangians did it. :}

Answer: B, but only its political aspect, and only when someone
threatens to bomb the tube I get to work every morning.
BTW England didn't lose the last test, they drew.

Q. How many cricket matches did I watch in the last year.
Some, all or none?
