Hey, James Morrow used that one in his "Blameless in Abaddon"!

set out on a tour of God's mind. Which turns out to be Platonic:
they keep running into these little skits -- the Idea of Job,
the Idea of Abraham and Ismail, the Idea of Sodom. And
eventually they run into this guy who's trying to nail...
