It's amazing. The level of cognitive dissonance among these people is
beyond belief.

You, quite simply, cannot be properly religious without this
extraordinary ability.
All western religions actually *require* one to have an advanced form
of cognitive dissonance, in order that you believe what you are
*told*, without thinking about the impossibilty of it (at the same
time).
(Eg: Transubstantion, The Trinity, biblical infallibity, etc)
In this way, the powerful elite can lead you around like sheep, and
work you like their hand-puppets, effortlessly.
It has been this way for millenia, and doesn't look like stopping
anytime soon.
Especially with the U.S. heading the way it is.
Religion = Control => Mass stupidity.

That's not exclusive to religion. The military (at least the US does)
uses cognitive dissonance to break down a person's ability to think
reasonably and never question orders.

It should be said that nationalism also serves the same function. The
three are often mixed together. The resulting propagandistic swill is
the lifeblood of the state.

It is raining - and I have palletized tank track that is slowly
sinking into the mud.
I am so glad I have most of the stuff turned-in.
BTW, the roof of my hooch leaks. Apparently it will be repaired as
soon as they fix the hundreds of leaky hooches ahead of mine.

You can take anything you like. It doesn't bother me any.
