well i just posted and i don't think it went through and i don't know
so i thought i would post again and share some gratitude. what i
posted about was this: there's this girl in the fellowship (and out of
the fellowship) who shares about how she is all ate up with the
lifestyle. she draws a check and doesn't have to work. and, when i
work two jobs and go to school, sleeping till 4 or 5 in the afternoon
sounds pretty appealing sometimes. the thing is i don't know if this
girl has ever had two weeks clean to string together, and, now she's
back in jail for a felony charge of receiving stolen goods, and, well,
it just made me feel some gratitude for my crummy little life. i can
stand outside work and smoke a cigarette and watch a thunderstorm if i
want to, like i did yesterday, and, well, if i were in jail, i
couldn't do any of that. i was thinking if i were in jail i couldn't
even wear my own shoes. then, i thought, well, do they let you wear
your own shoes in jail? that was a question i wanted to pose to the
group. i can't remember what else i said in the other post. i don't
know anything about jail but if you can't smoke there it must suck.

Out here in California, Santa Ana main jail, you wear county clothes and
jumpsuits and shoes.
Now at a minimal security facility you might wear your own.
i wonder if they give you new shoes or if it's like a bowling alley
where you have to wear someone else's shoes?
also, what about underwear? surely a person must be able to wear her
own underwear.
although, if they don't let you smoke, maybe they don't let you wear
underwear, either.

I suggest you don't ever get sent to jail, princess, because the other girls
will have you for breakfast, lunch & supper and light snacks in between.
