Bob Dunning said he and his granddaughter, Chrissy, are deeply
religious, but said nothing stirred his faith more than when
granddaughter began learning human evolution in her freshman biology
class last year.
Bob Dunning may be deeply religious but his faith is apparently very weak.
Otherwise if he was so sure in his belief in his Imaginary Friend then a little
science shouldn't be a threat to him. Most Christians I have talked to have no
problem believing in their God and accepting evolution as true, its only the
biblethumping fundies that can't seem to reconcile the two. Could it be the
quiet, non-offensive non-fundies are the ones that are secure in their faith
and the loud, bible thumping uber-chrisitans are the ones who are secretly so
insecure in their faith that anything not found in the bible is automatically a
threat to their set of beliefs? Just a passing thought.
