Rape isn't sexuality. It's violence. The two are phenominally different.
Violence and sexuality do not go together well.
I will agree with you that those who are sexually abused as children tend to be
sexually abusive themselves as adults.

rape because the law says it's rape. Poking around on the web, I find that
in Australia and Hawaii the age of consent is 14, in most US states it's 16,
in Texas it's 17, while in California and Wisconsin it's 18. Note that sites
having information on statutory rape are almost universally talking about
older males and younger females. The ones with a forum for people to ask
questions are this way too, with almost all the questions being like "I'm 15
and my boyfriend is 21. Is that illegal?", while the remainder are like "I'm
21 and my girlfriend is 15. Is that illegal?"

It's a good question.
Personally, I believe the "bar" should be biologically determined. If
the person, of whatever gender, consents to sex and is biologically
ready, I believe it shouldn't be illegal. According to legend, even
"Virgin Mary" was 12 or 13 when she got pregnant. And she wasn't
married either to the father!
