Don't you know evolution is a farce? You are obviously a product of the
brain washing which goes on in our Schools, Colleges and Universities.
I have seen the desperate lengths these Professors and Scientists go to
make people believe in evolution, even fabricating evidence to support
their unsupportable theories.
1st Rule of Creationism: Ignored evidence will go away
2nd Rule of Creationism: Interpret any challenge as personal insult
3rd Rule of Creationism: Claim evidence then quietly slip away
4th Rule of Creationism: Don't be confused by facts
5th Rule of Creationism: Insist that science ignores your proof
6th Rule of Creationism: Claim superiority for Christian education.
7th Rule of Creationism: Always appear to know more than you do.
8th Rule of Creationism: Shift the burden of proof to your critics.
9th Rule of Creationism: Lying for the Lord is okay.
10th Rule of Creationism: Never acknowledge your demonstrated errors

Hell, reading the description of the cricifixion makes me think the

The fix was in, and Jesus and Mary took off for Gaul.

The Romans dated from the founding of the city by Romulus, who was
raised along with his brother Remus by a she-wolf.
Does the fact of the Roman calendar make this myth true?
The current calendar was created in the 8th Century by Dionysus
Exiguus. He flat out made up most of the dates, such as the birth and
death of Jesus. About a third of the world uses the Moslem calender,
which is actually older than ours. Today is the 24th day of Dhu
I-Hijja, 1425.

Which is not objective evidence that he existed. Before Jesus,
calendars were based on the birthdates other mythical characters.

Why didn't the soldiers break His legs??
Assuming for the moment that this actually happened, the crucifixion
and all that, I have a simple reason: bribery, and a Roman distaste
for Israeli mobs.
Try reading the Gospels critically, and learn a little history.
Pilate wanted nothing to do with this street preacher, and Jesus
hadn't broken a single Roman law. Even to the end, Pilate tried to
get Jesus off by giving the crowd a choice of freeing Jesus or a
notorious criminal.
So, what does Pilate do? He quietly arraigned for Jesus to be fed one
of the many soporifics known to the Romans, beats him for effect, and
puts him up on the cross. Jesus passes out, is immediately cut down
and thrown in a tomb. The Romans broke the legs of bodies taken down
for the simple reason that they couldn't always tell who was dead.
Breaking the legs insured that even if some life remained, the
condemned man wasn't going anywhere.
So, Jesus sleeps off the drug in the tomb, possibly being removed
while still apparently dead, and he and Mary Magdalene hightail it out
of Judea. Gnostic tradition in the Near East and North Africa have
Jesus and Mary as a married couple, even having a daughter.
If you want to get further into conspiracy myth, Jesus, Mary and the
kid eventually make it to Gaul, where they settle down and eventually
come to power as the Merogovain royal line.
But since it's all a myth, we can say whatever we want.

What sacrifice? I just got back from the dentist! THAT was a

Can you bable bleaters do nothing but vomit ancient empty slogans?
The truly sad thing is, he actually thinks he's winning the debate in

Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then where does evil come from?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?

This part is what scares me the most. "Hurry it along." That's exactly
the mindset of the Tim LeHaye crowd, including our apocolyptic

will be their argument: "Jesus promised to come back, did he?

You think this supports you?
Look at this way: Christians have clung to such words, certain
that the Second Coming was nigh, for 2000 years. Guess what? The
end wasn't near. Jesus did not come back within the lifetime of
his apostles. He did not come back in 100 years, or 1000 or
2000. The failure of Jesus to return isn't the point, however.
The point is that throughout all these long years, the
"scoffers" have been present.
What does this mean for your quote above? It means the existence
of scoffers is in no way diagnostic of the end times. It's as if
someone had predicted, "In the last days there will be
conifers." You want to point at a redwood say, "See? We're on
countdown to the Apocalypse !"

You post this to alt.atheism with a straight face?
Don't you know that we don't accept your bible as anything more than
the ravings of a bunch of goat herders? Quoting from your bible only
convinces us that you're an idiot, not that what you say has any

The "last days" have been going on for a long, long time, then. There
have been atheists ever since the first god was invented. Which,
incidentally, happened long before your particular invisible friend
was ever conceived.
And no atheist, indeed no educated person, would ever refer to the
world as having been created or existing unchanged since its initial
formation. Only an ignorant creationist would.
They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he
brought the earth up from the water and surrounded it with water.
You deliberately forget that your silly creation myth is of no
relevance outside the context of your religion.
Then he used the water
to destroy the world with a mighty flood.
Which, oddly enough, left no evidence whatsoever behind....
And God has also commanded that the heavens
and the earth will be consumed by fire on the day of judgment, when ungodly people will
perish.
<yawn>

You can provide objective evidence to support these claims, I presume?
What's that? You can't? Why am I not surprised?
Since everything around us is going to melt away, what holy, godly lives you should be
living! You should look forward to that day and hurry it along--the day when God will
set the heavens on fire and the elements will melt away in the flames.
Does living a "holy, godly life" include being a smug, stupid,
self-righteous *****?
But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world
where everyone is right with God. And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these
things to happen, make every effort to live a pure and blameless life."
And you can begin by taking your Jesus's advice. Shake the dust off
your sandals and take your happy ***** on down the road.
