"Can someone (you?) give me a few facts proving that there is a god, or give
me some good reasons to believe so?"
I don't hold a belief that god does not exist. I just don't hold one that he
does, either, and that's what makes me atheist (the lack of a belief that god
does exist.)
I'm having a little trouble accepting theories of Atheism.
So am I, since there are no such critters. Atheism is simply a lack of a
belief in a god. That's it, nothing more,
Here are a few things that hinder me:
1: Why didn't/doesn't life evolve on the moon? or Mars?
We don't know if it evolved on Mars or not. We're still looking. As to the
moon, lack of air would be a great hinderance to any life forming.
2: Why does fruit grow? (Oranges don't have good survival tactics, and
really had no reason to evolve).
They don't? Actually fruits have a great reason to evolve. When an animal
eats the fruit, it'll usually swallow some of the seeds. The seeds usually
wind up not being digested and thus are extremented right in the middle fo a
pile of natural fertilizer. What better way to get a start on life? (Reminds
me of folks that use sewage sludge (basically the proccessed solids from the
sewage plant) as lawn fertilizer, or they have a septic tank overflow, and
then are surprised when they get a great crop of tomato plants growing in
the lawn.)
3: How did matter form? What did it form from?
Read some physics books. Hawkings has several good ones for laymen.
4: From where did life come? Abiogenesis has neither been observed or
replicated in any true form, even though dead things now have bands of
scientists and a friendly environment to help them along.
The fact that we haven't answered the question yet doesn't mean there is no
answer or that the answer is "goddidit."
5: All of the missing links died without a trace.
No, they haven't.
Unbelievable,
literally.
Yes, it is unbelieveable that you'd take a lack of answers to some questions
as support that "goddidit."
Atheism does not answer the questions that i have regarding the purpose
of life and the things in it.
And atheism doesn't try to answer them, since atheism is ONY a lack of a
belief in any god. Does your theism answer the questions of "What is the
square root of 4? How many people live in the USA? What time is it?" What's
that you say? It didn't answer ANY of those questions? Well, damn, then
theism must be wrong because it didn't answer any of the questions I had
about mathematics and time.
