And were she not on Medicaid, the politicos would not jump in.
If a private insurance company were paying all of that then the
congresscritters would not move a finger. Alienating insurance
industry - no, they cannot be so ungrateful to their benefactors.
But it is Medicaid! Starve the beast! (And drown it in the bathtub.)
