I think that it much simpler than that, it's simply that the church
will fade away into irrelevancy. The days of voodoo and similar
phantasms, belief in the supernatural, are, I think at deaths door.

Religion can't get away with what it has been doing for ever, ie,
someone, somewhere, someday, will call its bluff.

The gaps are getting narrower, so as I said, your god will fade into
irrelevancy.
