Lucifer, you should know about deceit. Just because somebody claims to
be Christian, doesn't mean he is.
Hmm. Are you claiming that some jews, atheists, budists, muslims, ect.
are posing to be christian, for what purpose? Or do you beleive you
are the official keeper of the "who can call themselves christian"
list and you delude yourselve that every one knows it. I gernerally
tend to believe people in the real world when they tell me what they
believe, and have never had a reason to doubt them... admittedly I
don't care what they call themselves and tend to judge them on their
actions., Only rarely on the web have I found people who dilberately
seek to decieve others as to their beliefs, although it is ususlly so
badly done that the deception does not last.
Any way, how could you tell. Especially for christianity, given just
about any arbitray set of beliefs you can find some congregation out
there that supports those beliefs and claims their belifs come
directly from the same Bible as every other christian. Now thats
amazing.
One evaluates Christians by the bible - especially the New Testament.
There's enough explained for how a Christian should act. I'm only
referring to Christians - not jews, atheists, etc. A lot of people
believe in Christianity and identity with it but they are committing
acts that the bible declares as sin. So they cannot be Christian.
I'll put it this way, I still believed in Christianity even though I
didn't live it during a time in my life. I put God on the shelf so to
speak but those ended up being wasted years for me.
Oh really. Did your imaginary friend whisper a little something in
your ear or did you just come up with it yourself. Oh, Oh i know...
you found it in the bible. surprise surprise. Its a mazing how some
Christians see their god as an intolerant god with no room for
compromise and with a very narrow definition of Christianity and
others who see a forgiving God that opens his arms up for all who seek
his forgiveness, who's love encompassing all his children, Actually
its only amazing that they both call themselves Christians and claim
to be reading from the same book. Talk about ambiguous belief
system. If you like your self righteous, self serving definition of
Christianity that excludes anyone who interprets the bible different
than you, fine with me. But don't delude yourself that anyone other
than your own big ego gives a flying fart who doesn't meet your
standard for Christianity. Especially when it comes to atheist. How
dense are you to to even imagine that "Lucifer, you should know about
deceit. Just because somebody claims to be Christian, doesn't mean he
is." would have any meaning to any of us here at "alt.atheism". Oh
and by the way, in most places I know If you claim to be a Christian,
it usually does mean you are.
