First of all that was not the point. The point was that civil rights were
denied to the same degree in the South (of Ireland). They weren't.
Getting mixed up with the other argument... oops. I'm not sure that I'd
agree with you on your point, though. The Republic was a rather shitty place
to live in back then.
Second as regards the US and violence - do you think that slavery of black
people was related to the largest ware ever on the Northern Part of the
American continent or not?
