Go back to The Stone Age, they had their leaders back then, no doubt
the largest and strongest of men and they had a name for him, later
on we called these leaders 'Lords' whether they were leaders of a
simple clan or an entire nation.
If they had it has not much to do with you or me.
It is very much to do with analysing the way religionists use the
English langage and how they relate their gods to early life style in
order to show that humans make up their gods and not the other way
around.
If it was the other way around, would that change things for you? What
would it change for you if?
So how natural when we make up our gods to call the Lords too; why,
we even sit them on thrones just like our 'Lords' sat on thrones.
Bob, there is a Spiritual world. Unless you do not know about it, how
can you judge it? How can you be sure? You are not in touch with
God, as if you were you would speak differently.
Kindly describe exactly how you are 'in touch' with your god.
He is always there, and I communicate with Him. Prayer is one form of
communication with God, and if He answers you, you are in touch with
God.
Look how this is describes in Scripture:
They said one to another, "Weren't our hearts burning within us, while
he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?"
(Luke 24:32)
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter
and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" (Acts 2:37)
That burning heart - that is one sign of being together with God. And
you will notice that, and never want to change this... It happened to
me, and I was drawn closer and closer to Him. I was "touched" by Him.
A priest said something valuable yesterday in a sermon which might
help you to understand my point of view... He said If you want to
know who God is, read the Bible, but if you want to know how He is
like, pray.
Praying is another word for 'hoping'.
Oh no - prayer is talking with God. God tells me many things in prayer.
It is much more than just "hope".
Early man and by that I mean
man back in The Stone Age, was the first god maker and he had more
reason that we do today to make them up. They were simple and lived
in fear of their lives.
That sounds funny... do we not have reasons enough to live in fear of
our lives? I do not know of anybody who did not have to die.
They understood nothing so anything was good, if it drove away the
evil spirits that they imagibned lurked in the forest at night..
Do you think people do understand much more today? I think allowing only
science to be the truth is a little naiv. There is much more in this
world than science explains.
Religons are the work of man, pure and [very] simple.
Yes, religions are like that. I am against all forms of religion,
because they stand between you and God. There can only be ONE truth.
Better try prayer. Pray to God, and see what will happen.
Hey, how about telling me what happens when you pray, as obviously
something has.
Prayers are very often answered. I can feel the Holy Spirit, too, also
physically, and the Spiritual world around me. I cannot put much of it
in words. God speaks into people's hearts - that is the place where we
meet.
And so the arrows of the crowned rider on a white horse unerringly
strike their destined targets as the rider gallops forth "as a
conqueror bent on conquest." (Revelation 6:2)

Chants and rhetoric that is intrinsically damaging to a democratic
mindset
desirable in people in a modern society.
This is neither chant nor rhetoric.
Wouldn't you be more comfortable in a "godly dictatorship" where
everything
is determined for you?
No. The LORD has my gratitude for His generous gift of free will.
It remains my choice to continue walking with the LORD, Whom I love

Chung, in his elaborate self-aggrandizement, says he thinks that
indicating laughter is a sign of despair, but when he does his :-) ascii
grin, it's just a grin. A sure sign of mental health from the warrior
with a bow in his hair.
And, like so many other crank wackos, he claims to be "walking with the
lord" and seems to post more and more ridiculous twaddle as he sinks
deeper into his confused miasma of self-glorification.
I especially like that fake King James sentence formation as he
blusters. Makes it sound more like actual God speaking. Um, if God spoke
an older, stilted English. As rendered by semi-literate Chung.

Andrew, your powers of understanding are as stunted as ever. There's no
truth in your statements above. Killfiling people is nothing like
committing murder. Laughing at you and your bizarre antics isn't an
indication of despair. I find you amusing in a demented sort of way. I
find it amusing to twirl you around your own words. I find it amusing
that you absolutely must post something - almost anything - to everybody
who plies you so you remain hooked by everyone who prods you.
The truth is that you're providing wacko entertainment. Sadly, you're
driving people away from anything to do with Christianity with your
immoderate and over-the-top blustering. But, hey, you make everyone
appreciate the mainstreamers more, and the Pat Robertsons and Jerry
Falwells less.
Such is the power in those
arrows being launched by the crowned rider on a white horse at full
gallop as a conqueror bent conquest.
You can't even keep your macros straight these days... <LOL> "...as a
conqueror bent conquest."
The only thing bent around here is you...
"He drew His bow and made me the target for His arrows. He pierced my
heart with arrows from His quiver." (Lamentations 3:12-13)
Your terrible need for violence and conquest, subjugation and force,
Jesus as deliverer of ultimata is a sad perversion of the teachings of
Jesus. That love that Jesus preached is absolutely lost in your
obsession with the ways of anger and hurt, triumph instead of community,
selfish appearances instead of generosity.

Sorry the truth bothers you so terribly.
Andrew, your powers of understanding are as stunted as ever.
Neither understanding nor a discerning heart are powers but generous
gifts from the LORD,
So you say and so you don't demonstrate or prove. And the point of what
you deleted was that your assertion that a killfile is the same as
committing murder is as colossally stupid a thing as you've ever posted.
And that's a sadly monumental accomplishment.
Who remains kind, just, and right.
This is another one of your "truths" that has a great deal to dispute.
You say that for God to destroy people and cause suffering is ok because
he created us, so he can destroy us. As though we were so many tin
soldiers. So many toys for the divine amusement. So much clay not
created in his image and likeness. He gives life and sensibility and
then deliberately confounds it, demeans it, destroys it with whimsical
ease. And you say it's ok because he created us.
Truth is simple.
*Your* self-serving version of "truth" is simple. It's whatever you say
it is. The simple fact is that you make too many strained efforts to
shape your answers to be "conquests" rather than discourse. "Powers" in
my sentence is a synonym for "capacity" or "ability." But you knew that
and decided to provide a reply that tried to evade the reality of my
words and grant you some ascendancy in this battle you think you're waging.
Occam evidently discerned this given his "razor."
Occam's razor isn't about redefining words to suit yourself. It's
entirely about the likelihood of validity of explanations. Yours have none.
William of Occam didn't say that truth was simple, or even imply it. He
said that the most direct explanation *that accounted for all the
details* was the best.
He *didn't say "simple,"* he said *simplest of the ones available that
provided a full, logical, reasonable explanation*. Your explanations
don't - they rely on your beliefs for which you offer nothing for
support. They don't account for all the details, and they aren't
rational. The bible is a flawed source for literal readings.

Without the LORD, the despair will continue to run deep.
Correct. It is about the simplicity of truth.
Those with discerning hearts are masters at wielding the "razor."

Uh, no. It isn't.
But, oh, Andrew. It happened again. Somehow the defining words of my
post have mysteriously vanished. The only part left was one that you
could easily and with your usual smarminess attack - not because it's
flawed, but because your trimming makes it incomplete.
I said that William didn't say that truth is simple, and that is the
simple truth. He didn't say that, nor did he imply it. He said that the
simplest answer - the least complicated of all choices offered - that
takes into account all the details is *probably* the best one. He wasn't
talking about truth, just the value of any given explanation for anything.
He said, "Pluralitas non est ponenda sine necessitas." (Plurality should
not be posited without necessity.) Notice that the word "truth" doesn't
appear anywhere. He was talking about explanations because he knew that
nothing is absolute. He was talking about keeping explanations as simple
as possible but still taking into account all the details.
He was also speaking in probabilities which you say are moot because
there's no chance in the universe, remember? So you can't intellectually
support Occam's razor without contradicting yourself. He talks about a
relativistic universe where explanations are to be judged and either
credited or rejected - considered better or worse than each other - but
none is absolute. He was talking about a method of reasoning that gave a
"good enough" answer for the real world.
*That* truth is simple.
And here's where Occam's razor gets interesting. "Atheists often use a
similar argument to undermine theism. God was as good an explanation for
man's existence as any, they say, until Darwin showed that the
fundamental laws of life could account for our evolution. This does not
disprove the existence of God, but to the atheist it goes a long way
towards making the assumption of His existence redundant, and
consequently - by Occam's Razor - expendable."
<http://cgm.cs.mcgill.ca/~soss/cs644/projects/jacob/interpretations.html>
Occam's razor says that Chung's likely on the wrong path. Let's see what
logical convolutions he uses for this one... Evasion, I bet. Or one of
his "As if you could discern..." chestnuts.
Those with discerning hearts are masters at wielding the "razor."
That remains to be seen. Thus far, the record among you and your
sockpuppets is pretty dismal, as in the matter of Occam's razor and how
it forces you to choose between a determined universe where God decides
everything, and one in which chance and fortune exist. By Occam's razor,
your crank hyperreligiosity has a small likelihood of being valid. Bite
on that for a while...

No need to use the past tense. The "rest in peace" page is still up

You were also listed with the rest of your ilk but you begged to be

The LORD is able to cure diabetes:
It just thinks it's funnier not to.
Those who choose to walk with the LORD will be cured of all that they

Not a damned thing. Killfile Chung like most of us has. I also
killfile anyone who responds to him that I don't recognize from ASD.

Whilst agreeing with your humanitarian sentiments, what is the purpose of a
prayer that says "May god do what god wants to do"? Is this a plea for him
to do what he wants rather than what he doesn't want? Why would a god do
what he doesn't want to do? If he's going to do what he wants to do, which
is presumably what gods do, then why do you need to ask him to do it? I am
