Bad tempered and depressed men are more likely to end up with heart
disease, diabetes or hypertension but a better attitude can lower
their risk, according to a new study.
"Hostile, depressed and angry people see the world around them in a
different way, and sometimes they see it as them against the world,"
said Professor Edward Suarez of Duke University in North Carolina.
"That kind of lifestyle often leads to greater stress and possibly
changes in the way the body functions that could lead to disease."
Although the study published in the journal Brain Behavior and
Immunity focused on men, Suarez said women are likely to face the same
risk factors.
Over a 20-year period, he and his team examined 313 men who were
Vietnam War veterans and part of a bigger Air Force-related probe on
the effects of Agent Orange. Testing ended in 2002.
Suarez said not all of the men were exposed to Agent Orange and it did
not influence the study connected to psychological behavior.
Over a decade, the results showed hostility, anger and depression
increased inflammation, measured by higher levels of the protein C3,
which is associated with contributing to cardiovascular disease and
diabetes.
Suarez said men who smoke, or who are overweight, are at an even
greater risk of increased inflammation.
"We may be able to reduce the risk of those diseases by reducing these
psychological variables, and then subsequently reducing inflammation,"
he said.
Without GOD's love in our hearts, there can be only hostility, anger,
anxiety, panic, and depression.
May GOD continue to heal our hearts with HIS living water so that we
can love our neighbors a little more and LORD Jesus Christ a whole lot
more, dear neighbor Roman whom I love unconditionally.
Prayerfully in Christ's amazing love,
Andrew <><

This would be the God in whose name Jews were hounded across Europe,
Muslims were slaughtered, citizens tortured, excommunicated, burned at
the stake and 18% of the population of central Europe exterminated in
Christianity's charnel house, in whose name the flower of European
youth were sent to be slaughtered in muddy trenches. The God in whose
name six million Jews were slaughtered, and by whose most loyal
servant 80 million citizens of the Soviet Union perished (You do know
that Stalin was a practising Christian, don't you?).
The God in whose name a fifth of the population of the United States
are condemned to grinding poverty and homelessness, and in whose name
young men in their prime are persuaded to fly planes into buildings
and blow up underground trains and buses, and in whose name the
foundations of civilisation are being torn up by "revolutionary"
guards, village elders, mullahs and ayatollahs. The God in whose name
the Middle east has descended into nearly sixty years of bloodshed.
That God?
No, thanks.
