since Lenny Bruce died, Hoffman said, "Really? He was my god." The
combination of satirical irreverence and sense of justice that Bruce and
Hoffman shared was the real spirit behind the Yippies--a term I coined to
describe a phenomenon that already existed: an organic coalition of stoned
hippies and political activists who engaged in such actions as throwing
money on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, then explaining to
reporters the meaning of that symbolism. Folksinger Phil Ochs summed it
up: "A demonstration should turn you on, not turn you off." So when
journalists link the Yippies with misleading bedfellows, at best it's
careless shorthand; at worst it's deliberate demonization. Osama bin Laden

to levitate it." -- Paul Krassner, http://tinyurl.com/ehu3v

Typical reply by someone with a mental disorder.

No. Folks with mental disorders are the opposite, hearing or reading
things where there are none.

Your huge ego ie..
god complex won't allow you to from a coherent independent thought.

Actually, the distinguishing characteric of folks with huge egos (self
worshippers) is that they need the attention of others to justify their
existence. This need is exhibited in what you write below.

The ones (including me) that respond to you think you're a
worthless piece of ***** and we want you to know it.

Yes, you seem to **need** my attention.

There was no cowardly snip by OF. The cowardly and snide comments were
made by Chung.

No. Folks with mental disorders are the opposite, hearing or
reading things where there are none.

I am glad we an agree on that.

To Steve's chagrin because it reveals that he is projecting his
mental disorder on others.

I wasn't referring to Steve.

Then, many thanks, much praise, and all the glory to GOD for
compelling you to write what you have written.

You just don't get it do you?

You are projecting your lack of understanding:

Shouldn't you be seeing your patients instead of posting to Usenet?

Not surprising.

Strange but real.

GOD's ways are inscrutable.

HE is the life.

A life lived abundantly is never boring especially when we have been

I had a dream when I was about 11 years old and it has stayed with me
all through the years. I saw Jesus standing before me with
outstretched arms and He embraced me, and it was a wonderful,
comforting experience.
I've never dreamed of Jesus since and wonder why. Do adults ever dream
of Him, I wonder.

Now, if up until that time you had never heard of Jesus, it would have
meant something. But, since dreams are only the random firings of
neurons anyway, and you interpreted those random firings as something
you were familiar with, there's nothing here. You had a dream.
Period.

Me? No. But even if I had, I know what dreams are - just the mind
trying to make sense out of what the brain is doing. Man is a
pattern-seeing animal - even when there is no pattern, we see one.

That is a theory Al, perhaps even written by a scientist, but still a
theory. Faith cannot be bought in a bookshop or a science lab.

Faith, religious faith, is the grasping of a child to avoid the idea
of personal non-existence. Adults realize it - children claim that
it's just a theory.

"Atheism is the world of reality, it is reason, it is freedom. Atheism is human
concern, and intellectual honesty to a degree that the religious mind cannot
begin to understand. And yet it is more than this. Atheism is not an old
religion, it is not a new and coming religion, in fact it is not, and never has
been, a religion at all. The definition of Atheism is magnificent in its
simplicity: Atheism is merely the bed-rock of sanity in a world of madness."

Faith in religion is exactly that. Child's play.
