Bush, the rainforest and a gas pipeline to enrich his friends
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/americas/story.jsp?story=428887
30 July 2003
Plan would enrich Bush corporate campaign contributors
According to the article this $1.6bn project taps only 13,000 Billion
Cubic Feet or 13 TCF. According to
http://www.aps.org/apsnews/1096/11655.html
we use up to 21 TCF per year right now. So the entire volume here could
supply the US for about 7.5 months or around 226 days according to these
1996 figures. The article also points out that we have hundreds of TCF of
natural gas in the US, so it doesn't seem that compelling for us to go to
the rain forests to get it.

I suspect that trying to talk to the presidunce would be about as
effective as talking to a brick wall.
