Musing about commercials that I saw when I used to watch TV, I
remembered that beer commercials would show someone displaying and
opening the can or bottle, pouring it into an icy mug *but *never
*drinking *it.
The good ol' USA! Television policy at it's finest.
Showing someone drinking a beer: evil.
Showing someone being brutally gunned down: absolutely fine.
C'mon, now, how many people are you going to save from alcoholism with
that strategy?
The state of Pennsylvania uses this ingenious scheme: at a beer
distributor, you *have* to purchase a full case of beer. You
cannot buy a six-pack. That's to cut down on drinking.
People believe you can sell a drink not to be drank?
People believe that praying to a skinny dead hippie will cure
their warts. People aren't very bright.
Yep. Drat. Please join in trying to think up ideas to change that.
It's a tough problem but we've been tough before.
Pool knowledge.
It's our duty, not a mere hobby, to effect change.
