Re: Please Vote For My Song! |
I probably shouldn't do this, but:
Jason Gastrich wrote:
Dear Friends,
I pray that you are doing great.
The San Diego Padres baseball team needs a new theme song for 2005.
They
have accepted my submission and they're letting people vote on which
song
they like the best. Here is where you can go and vote:
http://sandiego.padres.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/sd/fan_forum/rock_padres_vote.jsp
My song and many others are there to hear and download. However, if
you
have trouble using their system, you can also hear my song here:
http://jcsm.org/Padres.mp3
The winner will receive $5000 and will have the chance to play and
speak at
several events throughout the season. I'll be sure to glorify God
and give
Him credit for anything I receive.
Thanks for your consideration and I hope you vote for me!
Now, Jason spammed this to about 10 or so Christian groups, hoping, I
think, to pad his vote count on this SECULAR topic with votes from
Christians.
Of course, we have no idea what the religious inclination of the other
participants in the contest might be, so it seems to me that Jason is
using some pretty unfair tactics.
So I suggest that those whom might be inclined check out the Padres
contest, listen to the contestants, fairly evaluate them, and vote.
If the reader finds Jason's contribution to be the best of the lot, by
all means, give him your vote.
If the reader thinks otherwise, vote for someone else.

The rules wisely allow the judges to veto the poll and make
a final selection. May be this is a get out clause for terrible
song writers stuffing the ballot box.

A good protection, I think, like having judges at "American Idol."
I wonder if Jason has considered auditioning for that.

His parents, I'd guess.
