"Jason Gastrich"
* Please join me in daily prayer for an atheist/agnostic from
alt.atheism.
Here is a list of 2100 of them. We are on number 2.
Can anyone tell me why Jason is using the first person plural
pronoun?
Link:
http://jcsm.org/1on1/AltAtheismAtheistAgnosticList.htm
This begs the question of why Jason went to the trouble of
absconding
with the list from the a.a. website by evading a block when he was
specifically denied access and posting the entire purloined work on
his website. If all that he wanted to do was pray for the atheists
on
the list, he could have visited the site every day to get the next
name and still have achieved his stated purpose. Or he could have
created a link from his website to the a.a. list. But then that
would
be ethical.
Well, first off the list is de-facto copyright. Which makes
complaints
to Jason's host (Verio) legitimate, bearing in mind that under the
DCMA you're guilty until proved innocent, or forgiven (reminiscent of
Christianity, eh?). Though I think it would be aa#1 who'd have to do
this seeing as she originated the list and the copyright belongs to
her.
Didn't Bill Butler have to shut down his site while the Jasons lawsuit
was in progress? Looks like Jason Gastrich is playing with fire since
he knows this could precipitate the same response and he is fully aware
of the consequences. Then his and his wifes salary generating source
would be gone.
What is even more strange is the double standards that keep popping up
in Gastrichs online business.
1) Jason uses Michael Newdow photos on his web site yet he does not
allow Bill Butler to use gastrich related material on his web site. In
fact, Gastrich files a fribvalous lawsuit to cause Butler as much
hassel as possible. Gastrich then complain all over usenet it is not
fair that Bill Butler has ripped him off, but promptly does the same to
alt.atheism.
2) Gastrich sets up dubious web domains that redirect traffic to his
web site (www.talkorigin.org). Yet, when other groups set up domains
using his name, such as www.gastrich.org, he complains.
3) He used filters on his JCSM web site to stop his critics reading his
devotionals and other bible related stuff despite claiming that his
internet presense is to spread the word of God. He then promptly
complains about Mark Bilbo setting up filters on his server to stop
Gastrich ripping off the atheist list.
Notice in every instance Gastrich initiated the so called illegitinate
practice and yet complains bitterly when similar tactics are used to
combat his web antics. Apart from the obvious hypocrisy what does this
say about his ethics?
Secondly, one wonders why Jason thinks that prayer for a particular
atheist should be more effective or appropriate than prayer for
atheists in general.
He just loves to see his name in lights. His singing will never get
him there so he needs to do public prayer instead.

And he recently posted something where he seems to be projecting. As if
I'm blocking people based on their criticisms or being Christian or some
such thing. He's way off the mark there.
I only block trouble makers. Referrer spammers, crackers, people who try
to proxy, such folks.
I blocked Gastrich because he was seeking the "list" thing specifically
but would not explain *why he was so hot to get it. And I don't trust him.
Turns out, he lived right *down to my expectations...

Such a great "witness" he has huh?
Funny how he seems to think peeing in our faces is going to induce us to
"convert."
