I knew the US was fucked the night Bush was elected. I was writing an
article about the whole sordid mess, and it was the first time I'd
bothered to sit through the death throes of an American election.
Results were being declared and then changed, and the way the whole
thing was handled shocked me.
They had some GOP representative in the studio being interviewed and
she was asked about Bush's education. She said something along the
lines of 'the American people, the normal people, want someone they
can relate to, and that does not mean someone with an education'.

Have you seen James Baker, you know the one who fought *for* Bush's
appointment in the Supreme Court, now defending the Saudis against the 9/11
families? And to beat even this outrage GW Bush invited him to work out of
the White House which he now does?
This says it all for Bush's priorities.
