There is nothing intelligent about "intelligent Design".
It is a theory designed to allow the educated to
control the fools.
That may be your opinion, and you are of course welcome to your
opinion.
On the other hand, Intelligent Design fits religion quite well since it
serves the ages old purpose of religion which is to answer questions
that
our current understanding of science can not yet answer.
Science can not answer where life comes from.
Science does an excellent job of establishing via documentation
the trajectory of humans and from our ancestors, the primates.
Our Primate Origins: An Introduction

"Life" being that spark of "being" that separates the living from the
dead.
Science has made great strides in understanding how species have
evolved,
and how the earth has changed over time, but it still can not create
life,
nor describe what "life" is.
Religion is a pack of superstition nonsense, ALL religion.
Organized religion relies upon three things; Ignorance, Fear, and
Superstition....
Understand though that we ALL have a religion of some kind. It's the
standards by which we live....
No religion is not the same as ethics.
