In this example humans played the role of a designer. Can Avida escape
its digital world and study us? Not only you can't "disprove"
creationism/ID with science: I would argue that science in fact just
provides more opportunities for lazy explanations of the type "it's
too complex - there must be a designer". Any "good" discovery
generates many new questions, and that's the real reason that
important papers are highly cited. Scientific progress leads to the
increased amount of what we realize as unknown.
Perhaps humanity started with a single question - "Where's that cute
female hominid?" Needless to say, the answer merely led to the
avalanche of new doubts and frustrations. Shortly thereafter, an
imaginary friend had to be brought in as a means of restraint from
eating from the tree in the neighbor's backyard. Although it was
actually the neighbor who was fed up with this behavior and scribbled
on a made of clay Post-It note "Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall
ye touch it, lest ye die".
Maybe the condition that prevents us from getting to the point when
everything will have stopped making any sense is that although the
total number of unsolved problems increases, the proportion of unknown
problems does not. That is, as long as new answers don't tend to
generate progressively more questions per single new answer. An easy
way to see that is to suppose that a new answer produces exactly N new
questions. One can draw a "tree" on paper where new questions split
from the answers. Then the proportion of unanswered questions
stabilizes at 1/N - it's the proportion of terminal nodes in that tree
to the total number of nodes.

Here's a computer program simulating abiogenesis.
http://www.greythumb.org/blog/index.php?/archives/10-Simulating-abiogenesis-with-Archis.html
and a i million dollar prize to provide a plausible biochemical
explanation for it.

The fact that all the conditions for life are present in this universe
is well....pretty much a miracle. If it weren't there would be nobody
here to know it.

Here's a 1 Million dollar prize for providing a plausible biochemical
explanation for abiogenesis. I know a few scientists are attempting to
do so in their laboratories.

You're confused about cause and effect. Life is as we know it as a
result of the conditions that exist in this universe. We cannot make any
useful claims about what life would look like in a different universe
with different characteristics.

I'm neither a Christian or an atheist. Saying there is no God seems to
me the equivalent of saying there is. I have a bit of agnosticism in
me. I am a Monist however with somewhat a Weltanschauung of the Hindu
Upanishads. Hindu cosmology is monist and is a poetic version of the
multiverse concept.
