There's a fair bit of research out there that has correlated
religiosity with various brain malfunctions. It's demonstrated that
people with religious beliefs are more likely to identify coincidences
and patterns where none exist, and have lower concentrations of
serotonin in the brain (and a lower density of serotonin receptors).
Strong and/or odd religious belief is also used as a pointer in the
diagnosis of schizophrenia. Twin research in Europe has shown that
there seems to be a genetic component to religiosity (as there is with
schizophrenia), which supports the idea that it is as result of
differences in brain structure. There is also an apparent correlation
between cognitive function and religiosity, with higher IQs being
associated with a lack of supernatural and religious beliefs.

Of course, Puke had to jump in with his vapid droolings to support the
apparent correlation.

In theory, it should be possible to know whether or not someone is
likely to adopt the local religious/supernatural beliefs and customs
by giving them a PET scan.

This all means that it may be possible to treat christianity with
dopamine reducers like chlorpromazine, or anti-depressant medication
that increases serotonin levels.

The world would be much better off and there'd be much less death and
destruction.

I'd be interested to know what the religious fraternity think of all
of this. It seems to be very firm evidence that we are not all equal
on God's eyes, and that he 'favours' some above others by making it
easier for them to believe.

I'm sorry, but *think* and the superstitious fraternity most often are
diametric opposites.
