What a nightmare - it appears this guy has been molesting boys for
forty years. Another case where civil suit settlements allowed him
to stay under the radar.
I am little hesitant to pass judgment on the psychiatrist just yet.
If the five males had similar experiences or the doctor had similar
routine for the alleged molestations, then I think there is a
stronger case. If each patient had a very unique experience, (ie one
was fondle, the other was sodomized, etc. etc) then I would be very
hesitant in questioning these charges. If he was a molester, he
should have a pattern, and a modus operandi in trying to take
advantage of these patients.
However, because the incidents happened when they were children or
young adolescents and the time span involved. I still think there
should a some strong reasonable doubt, especially if the alleged
victims had some serious alcohol/drug problems or dealt with some
serious emotional/mental turmoil in the past.
And how many child victims *don't* end up with *serious* alcohol/drug
problems as a result of molestation?
Depends on how much STIGMA the rest of society burdens them with ...
