Yep, the Dominions are working overtime trying to create a theocracy, even
if they have to do it state by state.

If passed those in Alabama should be happy to know they are the only state
of the United States that would have amended their constitution to abolish
religious freedom.

And, by so doing, of course, the first state in well over a hundred years to
declare itself as not having "... republican form of government, ...".
Sect. 4. The United States shall guarantee, to every State in this Union, a
republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against
invasion; and, on application of the Legislature, or of the Executive, (when
the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.

However, state constitutions cannot be at odds with the Federal
Constitution.

So, sooner or later this would end up in federal courts.

Not necessarily.
Afghanistan, Iraq and Haiti didn't have to go through the United States
jucicial system.
It would, likely, not be necessary for the United States military to occupy
the entire land mass of Alabama. We could start with simply sending the
Religious Nutcases and Tyrants - much as we have done with the Religious
Nutcases and Tyrants from Afghanistan and Iraq - to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba,
where they can be interrogated without all those petty distractions.
It would - in all probability - be necessary to put the former state of
Alabama under martial law for few generations until this conquered people
can be sure to have learned the difference between a republic and a religious
tyranny.
Of course we do have the post-WW2 examples of how we helped the Japanese and
Germans to adopt a form of government other than tyrannies so we could,
probaly, use those for antecedents.
All in all, it might be possible for Alabama to petition (i.e., beg) the
United States to accept Alabama as its fiftieth state in the coming decades
and centuries.
Of course, pigs can fly and you can ride home on one.
