Well, if you had a FCC registered radio station say,
FM 106.3, and advertised it as "The Place for the
White Race", your license would be in revoked.
But, for a Mexican audience, "La Raza" means "The
People" or, in a more intimate situation, "the brotherhood."
Double-talk.
It does not mean "race" in the way English defines it... as in "white, Black,
Asian..." In fact, the word "raza" also means "breed" as in kinds of dogs, cats,
horses, hens, etc.
True. I know few other languages, where they apply the same
meaning as "litter" in procreation of a certain breed of animal.
But in every sense it has a racial denotation in the word's use.
Therefore, in this particular case the connotation is for latinos,
aka. Mexicans, Hispanics, A-Indians, etcetera, - who are also
can be subdivided racially, or in dozen of different categories,
including place of birth, religious denominations, cults, gangs,
class, social and economic status, credos and political belief...
Just like Croatians using word "narod" - or Italians for "nostra,"
which always holds controversy, and can result in antagonism...

does battle quietly, clearing minefields and vaccinating children. It
undermines military dictatorships and military lobbyists. It subverts
sweatshops and special interests.Where people feel powerless, it
helps them organize for change, and where people are powerful, it
reminds them of their responsibility." ~~~~ Author Unknown ~~~~
