I think the timing is suspicious. I look at other stunts pulled by
Bush and I feel it is more than a coincidence. He went AWOL during
Viet Nam
AWOL according to the military, or AWOL according to you?
Bush was never charged with AWOL. That doesn't mean there shouldn't
be questions, but they are so desperate to dig up something they have
to go back years.
He went AWOL. He pulled strings to jump in front of others who
probably died in Viet Nam and then he took that advantage and went AWOL
and deserted. He then claimed not to remeber where he was for a year
and a half. Now he send others, much braver than him, people like
Kerry, and sends them to their deaths based on, apparently, faulty
intelligence. He might have known better if he had taken fewer
vacations and done his homework. People died because of him.
Why don't they question their own heros?
LOL! There own heros? Now Bush is a hero! What hoot!
Wait until all the stuff comes out on Kerry. I wonder what their spin
will be?
That he was a hero. Now a piece of ***** like you wants to smear him?
****** Standard practice, elect a president, and spend the next four years
digging up smut, to condemn him.
BTW: Isn't America due for a lady to be president - it should be one man,
one woman!!

bush was never elected president.
Bush was duly elected President after Florida's electoral situation
was resolved in Bush's favor, by various rather ugly machinations.
It's far too late to argue the point now anyway. :-) The best we
can do is ensure it doesn't happen again, or at least not too often.
Remember who elects the President. It's not we, the people.
We elect electors. This bizarre system works for the most part
but, like Rutherford B. Hayes, can result in idiosyncratic results
in close elections -- and the 2000 election was a very close one.
As it is, I for one think that Gore might have made a slightly better
President, although there's no way to know now whether he would have
had to deal with (or how well he would have dealt with):
[1] the stock market crash, which actually started to happen
during Clinton's watch, and the ensuing economic downturn.
[2] the events of 2001-09-11.
[3] the finding of al Qaeda operatives.
[4] the war on Iraq, the usurpation of Saddam Hussein's regime,
and the eventual capture of Saddam Hussein.
[5] the crash of World.com/MCI, Enron, and others.
Fortunately, Bush has yet to ban abortions outright -- not that
he could, anyway; that's Congressional turf.
But do we really want four more in 2004? :-)

Bush was duly elected President
no, he was appointed by the supreme court of the united states in a 5-4 vote
after Florida's electoral situation
was resolved in Bush's favor, by various rather ugly machinations.
ugly and, imo, illegal.
