How to stop illegal aliens dead in their tracks: Plant land mines
along
the border.
Land mines are illegal. Who says so? The UN. Where and when? Look it
up.
To hate people less fortunate than yourself to such an extent is a
terrible
thing.
The U.S. hasn't signed the treaty that bans land mines, so the ban
doesn't
apply to the U.S.
why would the US sign a treaty banning land mines? They're a terrorist
nation which does not respect the Geneva convention.
First sensible thing you've said!! Are you feeling OK? :o)
That irony is obvious, does getting _beyond_ that sort of thing into
some uncharted territory scare you? Noticing such things as the United
States proliferates nuclear weapons but does not want anyone else
top have them does not exactly rise to the level of "great thoughts".
What was _not_ sensible, was that Mel was responding to a statement
by Tim Bruening and thought he was responding to me. Sometimes
these threads get too complicated for Mel to follow.
perhaps you can't follow these complicated replies?
The Mexicans are not our enemies, and don't really pose much of a threat,
except the social confusion of having neighbors who think making a dollar
an hour picking vegetables is the height of success. This doesn't really
rise
to the level of Defcon 1. And with few exceptions, the vast majority have
no skill level or literacy necessary to compete for anything but the
lowest
levels of labor, such as farm hands and janitors, and thus pose no threat
to the job market, which so many paranoids imagine. If some kid fresh
out of Berkeley gets rejected by Microsoft for being unqualified, do you
suppose José and Pablo, who's last job was grinding corn meal by hand
have a chance? And do you think there are kids growing up in middle
America who, when asked by their parents what they want to do with
their lives, say they want to live in a shack and help with the harvest?
