None of the soldiers coming back, especially from these horrible

All wars, including those instigated by two of the richest and most

Hello,
I am an astronaut. Does just my saying it make it true? No, I would
have to meet certain qualifications to make it a true statement. The
same is true of those professing to be 'Christian'.
If you think about it, what does it mean to call yourself a
'Christian', as opposed to calling yourself a Buddhist, etc?
Well, a Buddhist would be a person who believes and follows the
teachings of Buddha. Thus a 'Christian' would be a person who believes
AND FOLLOWS the teachings of Jesus.
So what did Jesus say about war? Here is a couple of things. Mt 5:44,
"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute
you," (NASB)
So to blow up your enemy into little biddy parts with war weapons,
would certainly be an unusual way to show them "love" wouldn't it.
Jesus also said at Mt 26:52 reads,
""Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who
draw the sword will die by the sword."" (NIV)
Doesn't sound much like Jesus wants his followers to use their weapons
against other humans, does it.
And Jesus said at John 13:35,
"By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one
another."" (NIV)
Yes, this is one way to tell Jesus' true disciples, from any professed
false ones. Jesus true disciples will love each other. Thus when
Jesus' disciples live in Germany or the United States, or England or
Iraq or wherever, they must show each other "love". That obviously
would mean that no disciple of Jesus could use war weapons to kill
another disciple of Jesus living in another country that some
political leader declared to be an 'enemy'.
So in conclusion, a more accurate SUBJECT line should read:
'Re: That says it all about some professing Christianity
Sincerely, James

Ah, excellent, so you have an objectively verifiable test to determine if
one is a Christian or not.
Please, by all means, post it so we can apply it the posters here that claim
to be Christian.
For instance, is Duke a Christian? Gastrich? The Pope?
How about you? Are you a Christian?
Or are YOU the guy who decides who's a Christian and who's not?

How can you claim to be a "true xian" if you don't also practice hatred and
diversion as Jesus calls for?
Matt 10:34-37
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace,
but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and
the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother
in law. And a man's foes [shall be] they of his own household. He that
loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that
loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Luke 12:51-5
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but
rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house
divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be
divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against
the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law
against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in
law.
Luke 14:26
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and
children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot
be my disciple.
And how can you call yourself a "true xian" if you have any wealth or
physical goods since Jesus calls for you to give them all to the poor and
follow him:
Luke 6:30
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy
goods ask them not again.
Luke 14:12-13
Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a
supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor
thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be
made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the
lame, the blind:
Luke 18:22-25
Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one
thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou
shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. And when he heard this,
he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. And when Jesus saw that he was
very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into
the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's
eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Do you treat women and servents as called for in the bible? If not how can
you be a "true xian"?
I Corinth 11:4-7
Every man praying or prophesying, having [his] head covered, dishonoureth
his head. But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with [her] head
uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were
shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it
be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. For a
man indeed ought not to cover [his] head, forasmuch as he is the image and
glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
I Corinth 14:34-35
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto
them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also
saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their
husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
Ephes 5:22-24
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the
husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church:
and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto
Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing.
Ephes 6:5
Servants, be obedient to them that are [your] masters according to the
flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto
Christ.
Since you don't seem to be preaching the word of god as written in the
bible, then you should be accursed according to the bible.
Gala 1:8-9
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you
than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said
before, so say I now again, If any [man] preach any other gospel unto you
than that ye have received, let him be accursed
So, what kind of "true xian" are you? Who decides?
