you don't go in for trolling much, huh?

Only to the trolls
An imaginary "takeover" of a public access newsgroup by an admitted
obnoxious fat little drug addicted troll deserves a reverse trolling or two
- - - - or two thousand.
Of course, I will know when you stop trolling, Dickyboy - you will get a
real life and disappear from here. Not that I am holding my breath. The
chance of your perverted mind accidentally finding real life is zero.

yup. ATJ is publicly accessible.
In the absense of strong leadership from the erstwhile regs, we decided to
take it upon ourselves to become the de facto guardians thereof.
Together we decide what goes into the Official ATJ FAQ and what gets

We established ourselves not to attempt to control that which we cannot

I used to host with UUNet. I posted some stuff to ATJ with my
adderleystreet.co.za domain name, and so Copeman / GP forwarded a complaint
to them. They had abso-fucking-lutely nothing to do with providing me
Internet access, but the arsehole who phoned me up seemed to think that he
had a right to warn me because they hosted the domain I used as my reply
address.
Anyway, he just went away after I patiently explained some things to him. I
asked him to forward the complaint to me, but I never received a single
thing.
I prolly could have been ultra rude to him because shortly thereafter I
switched my hosting. But it's never been my style to be ultra rude in RL or
in email, no matter how deserving the cause.

I prolly could have been ultra rude to him because shortly thereafter I
switched my hosting. But it's never been my style to be ultra rude in RL or

well, all that is subject to change.

ATJ is under new management now.

anyone who would like to be part of that management is free to apply.

The only "management" atj is under is Usenet protocols, and the individual
TOS rules of the ISP's that carry newsgroups. If you desire some control
over that arrangement you need to set up your own ISP. A friend of mine
did that several years ago, he eventually went broke and took up computer
sales, but it -can be done-. He just bought a big server, and had the cables

few years back.... I was using Quarterdeck Internet Suite v1, Windows 3.1,
386 DX 40 w/ 387 coprocessor, 1.2 megabyte HD... considering ZA is at
about the level the U.S.A. was ten years ago, you could do the same thing,
Richard, then you could send nasty letters to your customers, threaten to
suspend their service if they don't play by your rules, even sign your mail,

In the first place, that won't work around here, atj is like a self-help
group for incurable wise-guys, and in the second, that's where your
whole "Cipher" thing breaks down... objectively, it's just so much
jibber-jabber, so no one gives a damn, they're looking for smart-

The only "management" atj is under is Usenet protocols,

afraid not. we control atj now.

and the individual TOS rules of the ISP's that carry newsgroups.

are rendered irrelevant by our FAQ. we own this space.

If you desire some control

we control it via just one web site. that's how good we are.

we don't have presidents in charge of companies here. we don't have VPs
