spend three weeks being gay or bi. Learn what discrimination is
really all about. It's another invisible line.. everybody assumes you
are one with them mainstream until something comes up and sudden you
become one of *them*

Discrimination and persecution does not have to take any one form.
It can be quite openly and violently expressed.
Actually, I have to agree with you that the magnitude of persecution
which gay or bisexual people feel in the US is much greater than
that suffered by atheists. You are right -- I do not know of someone
beaten to death in the US in recent history because they were atheist.
But, certainly, you must agree with a general Murphy's Law type
philosophy: that if an injustice can exist, then it has existed.
In contrast to atheists, there are people who have been involved in
ufo/et disclosure who have been reported to have been killed in
mysterious ways.
E.g. Congressman Steven Schiff of New Mexico, who died of a very
unusual
and fast-moving cancer on his ear.
Atheists were certainly tortured and murdered along with many other
non-Catholics by the Spanish Inquisition, and atheists in Saudi Arabia
and Iran are routinely murdered.

sorry, something twiggy my gay rights button today, and seeing this
whine set me the hell off.

Why should it set you off? You should be feeling a shared
experience.

Even forgetting for a moment that there's an astonishing lack of hard
evidence for ET related stuff, or supposed government assassination to keep
it a secret, I don't think you can fairly compare someone who is murdered,
raped, lynched, beaten by people who hate that person solely because of
their beliefs/lifestyle.

Why should it set you off? You should be feeling a shared
experience.

It's NOT a shared experience. ET and Conspiracy proponents might be
generally looked down upon and not taken seriously (and face it, for all
their zealous beliefs, they've yet to deliver any hard evidence to support
their claims, only (some) unexplainable evidence which is hardly conclusive
enough to justify their claims), but that doesn't even begin to compare to
the persecution felt by atheists, gays, blacks, jews, et al who have
routinely had their property stolen, been raped, murdered, and tortured
throughout history.
Find me a Conspiracy believer who's been dragged out of their bed and stoned
to death while they watched their wife raped and their house burn down,
because of their beliefs, then I might start to sympathize.

Yes. But there are groups in the US that are violontly attack for
just existing. UFO researchers are not one of them. I have been
attacked for being an atheist, but that was one occassion almost 20
years ago. I had a beer bottle thrown at me three weeks ago by a man
shouting "*****!"

In contrast to atheists, there are people who have been involved in
ufo/et disclosure who have been reported to have been killed in

So? I went from being perfectly healthy to nearly dead in two weeks
because of my Hodgkin's Disease. It happens.

Atheists were certainly tortured and murdered along with many other
non-Catholics by the Spanish Inquisition, and atheists in Saudi Arabia
and Iran are routinely murdered.

Yup. Part of the reason why I hated Desert Shield.

sorry, something twiggy my gay rights button today, and seeing this

People point and laugh at UFO reserchers. They blaim atheists for
9/11 and claim that because I'm bi, I'm automatically a child
molestor.
It's a matter of scale
