That's BS! It's ignorance like yours that keeps all STDs spreading.
Assuming you're refering to HIV testing. I copied this from
http://www.thebody.com/nmai/testing.html :
"A "rapid" HIV test...""...results are available within a *half an hour*
after a blood sample is taken."
HIV is not the only STD either.

Considering that it takes at least 6 months for the antibodies to
build to the point that they're detectable, neither one. It's
thinking like yours that keeps HIV spreading.

I must add that the test is only affective three months after exposure
to HIV - not six. Even then, how can you argue that testing isn't worth
taking the time for? Tell that to the millions of sexually promiscuous
man and woman who go clubbing every weekend. Fundamentally, I see no
reasonable argument for criminalizing sex for money. All I ever hear
about are morals and ethics. I hardly think the government should be
legislating morality. The illegalization of prostitution denies everyone
the option of obtaining sexual gratification from people who are
regularly screened for infectious disease from within a controlled
environment.

At a minimum. It depends on how fast the individual makes antibodies.
Some few have undetectable levels even after 6 months, but they're
still infectious.
Even then, how can you argue that testing isn't worth taking the time for?
If your partner hasn't had bodily-fluid contact with anyone for 6
months, the test is invaluable. If s/he slept with someone last night
it's worthless. Worse than worthless, actually, because a negative
result could be deadly, causing you to think that you're safe.

If you play Russian Roulette with a loaded automatic you DESERVE to
die. There are enough Darwin awards for everyone.

As long as the woman isn't forced or coerced (which is NOT the norm in
this country), of course not.

That argument was not made

Yep - *IF* you were infected at least a couple of months ago. We
don't test for the herpes virus, we test for antibodies to it, and
they take time for the body to produce.
A biochip can produce results in about 30 seconds from the time they
***** your finger. But still, you have to have sufficient levels of
antibody in your blood to be detectable, and we can't detect a single
cell in the entire body - you have to be flooded with them, which
takes months in most people.
