Ok, so maybe not yet, but these guys were awarded the
Nobel Prize for what amounts to a 'gene switch'. The implications
are that the effect of certain genes can be 'silenced'.
This brings the question of whether or not homosexuality will be a
choice in the future. Of course, this assumes that homosexuality is
genetically determined. If you can decide to reverse the 'gay gene',
it would make the idea of homosexuality a decision, and therefore gays
could become straight if they desired to.
And the same could be done for a "straight gene?"
Why destroy a normal gene???
Indeed. Any genes that may be associated with the normal range
of sexual orientation (i.e., gay or straight) would need no changing.
Soon there will be nothing standing in your way. LOL
There's nothing standing in the way of straights becoming gay,
either. But in almost all cases, NEITHER wants to change their
orientation, and are quite happy to be just the way they are.
And what about the [gay] rationalization that "they don't want to be
gay, it's just how they are"?
There are always a few people who are statistical outliers, like
that. To wit -- those folks who go for sex change operations. just as
one example. MOST people, gay or straight, are perfectly comfortable
with their orientation, and see no need to "rationalize" anything.
The notion that you think they might shows you to be CLUELESS.
The fact that you think that would be desirable does, too. And
it also spotlights you as being a BUSYBODY.
ROTF...look who's talking!!!
DEFENDERS of personal liberties are the OPPOSITE of busybodies.
Suggest you get yourself a life.
This is precious....

FYI, all a.a. readers who are familiar with Craig Chilton:
Craig has claimed no fewer than six times that he is an elected
official of the Iowa Republican party. To be specific, he says that
he has been *RE*-elected the State Central Committee:
BUT: I did some homework by speaking directly to members of the Iowa
Republican party, specifically, Marlys Popma, Darrell Kearney, Joel
Hannahs, Chad Barth, and Carolyn McGoldrick. I received responses
from some of them, and they did not recognize the name Craig Chilton.
Mr. Kearney flat out said Craig was not a member of the central
committee whatsoever.
Okay, so maybe they aren't entirely informed. But, what about the
website? Wouldn't the Local Party Officials directory for Black Hawk
county have Craig's name there?
http://www.iowagop.org/directory.asp
Hm, no Craig.
Let's try somewhere else:
http://www.elect...@co.black-hawk.ia.us/ ?
Nope.
A Google search of Iowa Republicans, Black Hawk County Republicans,
and the like produced nothing. Black Hawk County Republicans site
seemed to be having server trouble, and if anything develops with it I
will post it.
Maybe *you* should get a life craig.
ROTF!!!!!!!!
