You missed my original point about *interpreting the bible* in light of what we
know today. Something that fundamentalist Christians and Muslims alike can't
seem to comprehend. If we were to put to death everyone according to the Bible,
we'd kill all gays, adulterers, cussers, and everyone who went to see Lord of

You are disobeying the Bible. There is no logical way to interpret
the following passage as not requiring the killing of people who work
on the Sabbath. There is even an example in the Bible where Moses
orders the execution of someone for breaking this commandment.
(Exo 31:15) "Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the
sabbath of
rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day,
he shall surely be put to death."
And the hilarious thing is that most christians can't even count
to 7 ... therefore nearly all of them break that commandment ...
I just wish there were some true adherents to carry out that command.

The legal stipulations of the Sinaitic covenant were only binding on Jews.
Christians believe in a "new covenant" on the basis of Jesus atoning
sacrifice.
Furthermore, the Sinaitic laws were constitutional of Israel, not just
religious doctrines. Christianity is not rooted in nation or place. When
the early church (all Jews) discovered that God had designs on the Gentile
world, they were surprised but accepted it.
