It's not a song, or a story, or practice oration, it's a fucking Pledge of
Allegiance
to a specific Country ... an OATH you fucking moron.
If you're suggesting that singing the song this land is your land will
harm you in any way, it would be a good idea to give up concentrating on
petty annoyances and concentrate on more meaningful pursuits. Getting
upset about trivia only causes you to beat yourself with the club that is
intended for others. Many people who live in foreign countries are
expected to follow local customs and traditions. Don't sweat

Indeed. And in the United States, causing a fuss about issues related
to the constitution appears to be a very deeply ingrained local custom
and tradition, wouldn't you say?

Yes it is, from the second grade I had a very very strong opinion of the
power and the meaning of the pledge of allegence.
To say it is merely a custom? taking of your shoes is a custom, saying
thank you is a custom, spitting in the face of somebody you like is a
