Many people like me choose to use our names on the Net.
Trolls mental cases attack you. They use spam bots and plaster your name all
over the newsgroups.
If you use name use a Digital signature then you can prove if the post is yours
or a forger.
I would like to debate the usage of using your own name vers staying anonymous
by using remailers and stating anonymous. The pros and cons.

This may not be the "debate" you're looking for, but I do
speak from a bit of Christian experience in posting to the
usenet newsgroups via remailers, always using my real name,
and always pgp clear-signing all of my posts. But I suppose
many writers do that nowadays, so there's not much to debate.
And with Google Groups broken beyond repair, there's not much
to bother with regarding inane trolls & stalkers. Use filters
judiciously (e.g. 40tude, newsproxy, hamster), and the trolls
and stalkers magically disappear. And they'll die someday and
burn in Hellfire into the ages, so look at the bright side! :)
The biggest "pro" that comes to mind is much like it was the
antediluvian days of Noah, leading up to the worldwide flood.
Remailers, freespeech, usenet, internet, electricity, living.
Everything the world thinks they own and control, they don't.
I used to believe "the pen is mightier than the sword". This
I no longer believe, but only extremely powerful nuclear and
most especially biological weapons shall produce the desired
effect upon this murderously evil, Anti-Christian, Atheistic
empire of iron mixed with miry clay--then the incoming seven
stadia along its major axis and the second coming of the Son
of man with the Dark clouds, all exactly like the bible says...
Meanwhile, I'm grateful to the remailer sysops for providing
this free service for as long as they have. Remember the old
song lyric: "you don't know what you've got till it's gone"?
