For what it's worth: I taught in the IT department of a local community
college for several years (retired in 2002). One of the courses I taught was
Intro to the Internet. In one of my classes, there were two 80-plus-year-old
guys. They both used WebTV as their net access. I don't know whether or not
they were in to usegroups, but they were pretty cool and wanted to know more
about the net.
BTW, neither of them were named Lenny or Dave.
