i thought 'atheists' just dont beleive in god

if so, why do you need a badge?

why not just 'not beleive'

Everyone else gets badges and *****....I want a badge for being smarter

than

them.

dunno about smart - that's weird - i dont beleive - but i dont need a badge
to say so & i certainly dont need a soapbox (a forum) to say so -

Most of us are here to hang out with our fellow non-believers, and
talk about things of interest to us with people who share a
non-religious worldview, and who will probably agree on issues of
concern to us, such as church-state separation, or keeping religious
myths out of science classes.

that's no
less than an unhealthy obsession - in fact shouting about nothing is crazy

Except that we aren't here to discuss atheism per se, we're just here
to hang out and converse with people who base their world-view on
rationality, not mythology. It's not our fault that some
hyper-religious kooks feel the need to seek us out and preach to us
here. If you want to talk about unhealthy obsessions, there's a good
place to start

At some point in the past, JethroUK© <reply@the.board> posted this
drivel:

but i have to wonder whether it is a 'non-religous' view - or an
'anti-religious' view (people that dont care for bananas tend [not] to
discuss them at all - whereas someone who hates bananas would prolly
say so)

I get it now, someone doesn't understand the origins of the USENET newsgroup
"alt.atheism"
