i thought 'atheists' just dont beleive in god
if so, why do you need a badge?
why not just 'not beleive'
Everyone else gets badges and *****....I want a badge for being smarter
than
them.

Just being an atheist doesn't make one smarter than theists. Marxists are
atheists
and every single one a lumpen vat of stupidty.
An atheist is a someone who, for whatever reason, does not accept the
existence
of a supernatural authority. That says what one does *not* accept, and
says nothing
at all about what one does accept which could be wonderfully rational or
as
grotesquely irrational as theism. That's why it makes no sense in having
a badge
to denote one's atheism.
What atheists DO believe is irrelevant. If you see the badge atheist, you
now know that the person wearing it does not believe in any god. Now you
know something about him you didn't before. The badge has served its
purpose.
