Jake,
I think you are a Christian but that you just don't know it yet.
A true Christian is really a rebel with a cause I think.
Church pew sitting Christians for the most part don't know squat except
what they are told to think and believe.
But it's there and open to careful scrutiny and critical analysis.
People just need to open up a bit I think, to the realm of the unknown
unknown, which is to say, the area of possibility in the realm of what
you don't know that you don't know. Having integrity relative to that,
and rolling forward into increasing awareness of the mysterious
self/other relationship, which DOES accept people right where they are
- not THAT is Christian.
It's an invitation to participate, and not a forced thing, which
threatens, since that is not love, but another form of domination and a
usurpation of the will of another for purely selfish gain or self
gratification born of a sickness of co-dependancy. Any Christianity
which attempts to prey upon the weak or the weak minded, is not
Christian, but the antithesis of Christianity. As Christians, we must
bring our sickness to the Cross for healing, including our sickness
born of a Christian bias which does not understand it's own doctrine.
I like the idea of cracking it all open out of the stained glass
bottle, and seeing if there really is a genie in there, while remaining
open to all possibility..
The best Christians are those who struggle with their faith and who are
rationally minded.
The x-tain fundies I have no time for.
"The letter of the law killeth and the spirit of the law giveth life."
If we as Christians are not prepared to fall in love with Jesus, right
to the core, then we should simply turn away from it, because a newly
constructed building, half completed, is a joke.
It's all or nothing, however fast or slow, but once penetrated, Jesus
is going all the way to home plate! LOL
In that sense, spiritually, all Christians are women as the recepticles
to God's word/seed for consumation, and procreation of a new creation,
the depths of which never end.
"The meaning of communication, is the response you get."
