What quandary? This is a principle set up on false assumptions by
theologians. It is hardly a principle of logic, *or* science.
And if so, why not the universe?
Why the universe?
Because we *know* there *is* a universe. So it is more parsimonious to
assume, if we must assume that something is self-subsistent, that it is
a known entity rather than an unknown and possibly unknowable one.
