Fine. But where do you find His Word? I guess you missed the point of my
message. Do you find it in the writings of Martin Luther? Do you find it in
the Book of Mormon"? Do you find it in the many books of the Cathilc bible
which did not get accepted as The Word by the Protestants? Do you find it in
the Torah? In the Koran? In the writings of Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, or
Norman Vincent Peale?
How can you (or anyone) submit to His Word when there are so many disputes
about what is or isn't His Word (even among the many sects of Christianity).
I am getting older. My mom believed one set of tenets (Baptist) and my Dad
another (Catholic). I don't have too many decades left. God Willing, perhaps
only hours, minutes, or seconds left. I may be gone before I have a chance
to read your reply.
So, if my original post didn't make any sense to you, or if you're a Mormon
who knows the Baptists are wrong, or a Calvinist who knows the Hebrews are
wrong, or a Hebrew who knows the Lutherans are wrong, who's to decide who is
right? Who has His Truth and His Unequivocal Truth, because to be sure of
walking through the pearly gates some day there is no margin for error
allowed. Billions will burn in hell, probably trillions when you consider we
are talking "all time" here, so don't you think we all need to come to a
common understanding or find some other way to hedge our bets? I do not
believe one can practice a "wrong" religion, but somehow almost every
believer will say there is no point in believing anything if you don't
believe the same as they do.
All we know for sure is what we have been taught, but have you ever stopped
to ask yourself where did those who taught me get taught, and those who
taught them, and so on, until it is one million years earlier (less if you
think Bishop Usher was right) and God and Adam are discussing what shall we
ever do after the Tower of Babel is built because then noone will understand
anyone anymore and consequently no one may ever be able to come to a common
understanding with anyone ever again.
So, I think it is great you choose to submit to His Word, I only wish I
could know what it is as surely as you do. And whom I choose to ask will
assuredly only give me their personal version of The Truth, so how do I find
out if they REALLY know, or how is there a way to find out those who are a
bit more likely?
Are they a bit more likely if their name is preceded by Father, Pastor,
Reverend, Rabbi, Minister, Saint, Prophet, Bishop, or Cardinal? Or does
that edge fade as we move from the teachings of one religion to the next? I
do not believe everyone is wrong, I just believe some may be closer to the
Truth. I want to know where to look for the truth. Right off I can imagine I
hear the Catholics thinking, "make your Dad proud," while I hear the
Baptists thinking, "only your mom has half a shot" at life on the other side
of the Light. Duhhhhhhh. Go figure.

God uses the "foolisth of preaching" to comfound the carnal minded
person. No matter what or when or how God sent His word, human beings
always will believe we have a better way.

He created me the world and everything in it. All is His to do as He
pleases.

As high as the heavens are above the earth are God's thoughts and ways
from ours.

I choose to submit to His word.
