Well actually I skipped to the end to read the take home

I got a big kick out of the pamphlet entitled "Professional Morons."
Seems it's targeted at the wrong set of folks, though.

You know, it hardly surprises me Gastrich is leaning toward the presups.
Especially given their entire argument boils down to:
1. I'm right.
2. Therefore I'm right.
3. This is logic dammit!

"presups"? I had to go look that one up.
Man! I mean, who ordered that?
The basic premise, if I understood it, is that whatever fundamental concept
explains the most of what we see is the concept which is most likely
to be correct. If I've got that right, then fine: that's exactly
how science views things too.
But how do they get from there to "the reality of the 'self-contained' triune
God and the self-attesting revelation of the Scriptures" as being the leading
candidate?
Do I really want to know?

They simply "presuppose" it of course.
They're an interesting (if weird) bunch. They have things partially right.
The best fit explanation is the most likely to be correct (or, better,
*useful... "right" and "correct" being slippery terms). Such as in science
there are unproven (and sometimes unproveable) assumptions. The question
of whether these "presuppositions" are worthwhile depends on where you end
up. If it's somewhere useful, they must be useful. If somewhere useless,
even incoherent, they aren't useful and should be discarded.
The "presups" try to ape this by simply declaring arguments they don't
like as "incoherent" or "illogical" or even accuse you of insanity. Since
they've assumed their conclusion, you "cannot" be logical or rational or
even sane if you argue against their position.
After all, they cannot admit to any kind of standard for judging their
position because they've simply assumed--a priori--their god *is the
standard. That leaves them with not much to do other than hurl ad hominem.
Behind all the verbiage is, basically, a foot stomping tantrum. It shows
very clearly in the writings of this Vincent Cheung. He's having a hissy
fit. "I'm right! I'm right!! I'm right!!!"

Well, I for one must admit I enjoyed his logic.
Paraphrased example:
there are an infinite number of possible scientific theories,
therefore any given scientific theory has a one divided by
infinity chance of being correct, or a zero chance of being correct.
Of course one would expect next to see:
there are an infinite number of conceivable gods,
therefore any given god has a one divided by
infinity chance of being The One, thus a zero
chance of being The Actual God.
But that part was missing. Next edition, perhaps...

"Praying for" the Atheist? Is that the new Christian vogue now? Do you pray
for all those who don't believe as you do?
A "pray for" is really a *prey on*.

You call that admitting his mistake? It sounds as if he is saying "it
was not there when I cut and paste but I see it is there now".
Clearly Jason did not copy and paste every name on the list. 1800 was
the last name on the list and he failed to drag the cursor down far
enough. A very easy mistake to make. Why can't he admit that is what
happened??
Jason, does your God prevent you from making scholarly mistakes? Do
you realise how stupid you look trying to defend your obvious errors?
This is exactly how David S. trapped you in your lies re: your lawsuit
against Durango Bill. White lies have to be defended with further lies
and before you know it your web of lies is so full of holes the whole

You paint yourself into corners again and again and again. Normal

name on the list. I have no idea why 1800 wasn't there and is now.
Nonetheless, thank you for guaranteeing Sidney's insertion. We
will pray
for him.
<snip>
But at least you were finally able to admit you made a mistake.
There's
hope for you after all.
Why can't he admit that is what
happened??
Because I don't know what happened, exactly.
Jason, does your God prevent you from making scholarly mistakes? Do
you realise how stupid you look trying to defend your obvious errors?
This is exactly how David S. trapped you in your lies re: your lawsuit
against Durango Bill. White lies have to be defended with further lies
and before you know it your web of lies is so full of holes the whole
thing comes craching down on your head.
This is nonsense. I didn't lie about anything.
You paint yourself into corners again and again and again. Normal
people learn from their mistakes. You never seem to learn. What does
this say about you Jason?
David D. aa#2219
You calling me abnormal is ok with me.
Regards,
Jason

Charles Manson doesn't mind, either.

"Normal people learn from their mistakes."
But YOU want to be ABnormal? You're PROUD of that?
You don't learn from your mistakes?

Not of your type of books.
But then you already knew that.
Not so. Just look at how much they like to talk about my book, for
instance.
The talk of your book is about how incompetent it is, Jason.
Don't fool yourself.
Atheists read all kinds of books.
What about YOU, Jason?
When was the last time you read, oh, a SCIENCE book?
I mean a REAL science book, Jason - not one of those idiotic things the
ICR puts out.
When was the last time you actually READ a book by an atheist?
I know that you couldn't be bothered to read Dan Barker's book before
you presumed to interview him, in part, BECAUSE of that book.
That's something any competent interviewer would have done, by the way.
Have you read it since?

What makes me curious, Jason, is why you posted this ad twice and did
so with a reference to your website, when one can get to the "books"
quite readily by using the URL without that reference.
Some kind of scam, I suppose.
BTW, fixed your cut 'n paste error yet?
Bet not. Bet you will even say it's not an error, and still be
unable
to admit you made a human mistake.
Darn, go figure.
I'm not sure how or why, but 1800 was missing from the list when I
downloaded it. However, I was able to find it, now.
#1800
Name: Sidney Schneider
Nick: inspector71
DOB: 1956

Philosophic Conviction: Atheist
This has been added to the list.
I'd admit some error, as you have been chasing me around and trying
to make
me do.
This will be the first I've seen you admit, Jason, but maybe part of
the problem was that you DO have to be "chased around" to get you to
admit even the simplest errors.
But knowing how you fundamentalists tend to think, it's not hard to
imagine why that is.
However, I know how to copy and paste and copied and pasted every

You missed it? No! I made it at least half dozen times
to you.
Simple, I m no, 109 on the Atheist list.
Simply put, put me at the head of the prayer list.
And not a simple little prayer on the way from the
refrigerator back to the couch to watch TV.
I want full blown prayer, an hour a day from
you and your church.
********************************************
Mark 11:23-4
For verily I say this unto you, That
whosoever shall say unto this mountain,
Be thou removed, and be thou cast
into the sea; and shall not doubt
in his heart, but shall believe that
those things which he saith shall
come to pass; he shall have whatsoever
he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things
soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe
ye recieve them and ye shall have them.
Matthew 18:19-20
Again I say unto you, that if two
of you shall agree on earth as
touching anything that they shall
ask, it shall be done for them of
my father which is in heaven.
For where two or three are gathered
in my name, there I am in the midst
of them.
Matthew 21:22
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask
in prayer, believeing, ye shall recieve.
John 14:12-14
12: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
believeth on me, the works that I do shall he
do also; and greater works than these shall
he do;because I go unto my Father.
13: And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name,
that will I do, that the Father may be
glorified in the Son.
14: If ye shall ask any thing in my name,
I will do it.
***********************************************
Here we see, Jesus his very own self promises all big,
and great miracle working abilities. Bigger miracles
than he worked in fact.
So converting me by prayer should be easy if you
you actully put forth a good effort with these
verses in mind. I am particularly fond of John 14.
Tell me when you are ready an we wil lstart the count
to find out. Is the bible true? if so,
these verses guarantee prayer will convert me. If at
the end of 30 days it has not as promised, we can agree
like adults that the bible is not true, and these promises
are not true an Jesus did not speak truth.
Over ten years I have had numerous peole play this "I
will pray for you" game. Many Atheists here get offended
at that, but not me! I love it when somebody wants
to put this to the test.
But alas. Most so challenged an I have done this for ten
years now, run away. They don't have faith. They don't
trust in Jesus and the bible and these written promises.
And so they don't even try and naturally, I am not converted
by the miracle working abilities of prayer as guaranteeed to
us all by Jesus Christ.
And if its not true, we can both laugh at it all and stop
wasting time with the Bible.
So, you up to it or not? You have a lot of true believers
here in AA to call on for a big push. Randy Story, Lorr,
Georgeann, Duke, all these big true believers. Call on them
to show me just how wrong I am.
I am sure they will agree to help.
Whaddya say?

It could take 5 minutes or it could take 5 years.
Well, I called it when I first started my polls.
I knew Jason would make some kind of "God moves in his own ways"
response.
But I think we all understood that. It could happen in 5 minutes or 5
years.
Or it could never happen.
Right?
So far, the odds aren't good.
How many of these self-serving "prayers" have you posted, Jason?
So far, there has been no effect - zero.
In fact, you've driven people the other way, if I'm reading some of
these threads correctly.
One might easily conclude that you're doing Satan's work.
How would you prove them wrong?
