Religious groups get chunk of AIDS money |
Who better to spread the message of chastity and virtue; the only proven
successful prevention method yet devised? AIDS is serious business and
should not be a pawn in the ideological debates of politics. Religious
organizations, led by the RCC, are experienced enough, and capable enough,
to spend these funds wisely.

President Bush's $15 billion effort to fight AIDS has handed out nearly
one-quarter of its grants to religious groups, and officials are
aggressively pursuing new church partners that often emphasize disease
prevention through abstinence and fidelity over condom use.
Award recipients include a Christian relief organization famous for its
televised appeals to feed hungry children, a well-known Catholic charity and
a group run by the son of evangelist Billy Graham, according to the State
Department.
The outreach to nontraditional AIDS players comes in the midst of a debate
over how best to prevent the spread of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. The
debate has activated groups on both ends of the political spectrum and
created a vast competition for money.

If Bush gives funding to Muslim groups they can be assured of fighting AIDS
since Muslims are most serious
in spending the funds more wisely than any group since they believe in
chastity and practice it most.

By giving the money to religious groups, that is exactly what AIDS
becomes.

condoms help spread AIDS? Pope John Paul II went to disease-ridden,
overpopulated, third world slums and told the people there not to use
condoms. That is nothing short of a criminal act.

If by 'wisely', you mean telling people that following christianity is
the only way to live, then sure they will. If you are referring to the
REAL meaning of the word 'wisely', then no chance in hell. The vatican
has a long history of caring more about whether people are catholic
than whether they live or die.
Stop living in your fantasyland where people actually are willing to
practice abstinince and where religious leaders actually know what they
are talking about.
By the way, chastity has nothing to do with virtue.
